ACU Licence Test

Obtaining your ACU Road Race Licence is a great first step into bike motorsport. However, you may simply want a licence to take part in bike track days and test days as well as going racing. Whatever your reason, MSV Trackdays can help you every step of the way - even if you have limited riding experience.

Your current level of riding experience will dictate the various areas of the test that you will need to take in order to obtain an ACU licence, all of which are detailed below.

ACU Intermediate Novice Licence Test


Requirements:

For riders with a full (not 33bhp restricted) UK riding licence (or overseas equivalent).

The test involves:

  • CTC Classroom Course
  • On circuit riding assesment

ACU Novice Course


Requirements:

For riders with a CBT, a restricted DVLA road licence or motocross experience (with the relevant proof of experience such as a copy of previous race results).

The course involves:

  • A full day of on track training involving classroom sessions and one to one sessions with an instructor on circuit
  • CTC Classroom Course
  • On circuit riding assesment at the end of the day

Please note: we can only provide tests for riders over 18 years old with a DVLA road licence, CBT certificate, 33bhp Restricted Road Licence or Motocross experience (providing you can provide previous race results).

All riders must be able to demonstrate a basic level of riding experience including being able to pull away, change gear, brake and steer as expected when completing the CBT syllabus.
